Apenas se había descubierto nada sobre cómo iba a ser la adaptación de ‘Watchmen‘ en HBO. Sin embargo, después de una larga espera, meses de especulación y semanas de análisis crítico, el fandom finalmente puede ver el primer episodio de esta serie y juzgar ellos mismos: ¿Respeta el material fuente? ¿Vale la pena verlo? ¿Y justifica su existencia?
Damon Lindelof (creador de ‘The Leftovers’ y ‘Perdidos’) ha sido el encargado de crear esta historia basada en el mítico cómic de Dave Gibbons y Alan Moore. Lo hará con un reparto estelar encabezado por Regina Kings, Jerimy Irons y Don Johnson.
Este primer episodio, estrenado el 21 de octubre, ha dejado claro que está tomando una dirección muy diferente de lo que los seguidores podrían haber esperado. Ya sea por la misteriosa trama sobre el hombre que podría ser Ozymandias, el odioso legado de Rorschach, la representación brutal de los disturbios raciales de Tulsa – algo que ya nos había anticipado el tráiler – o incluso los nuevos personajes que toman el centro del escenario, hay mucho que procesar.
Digital Spy titulaba su crítica de forma simple y concisa: “Watchmen en HBO ignora la película, y por eso es tan buena“. ¿Qué han dicho otros medios especializados al respecto de tan esperada ficción?
